  • ATE – equipment to distribute and switch signals and calls. It may be a separate device, and hardware and software solution that is connected to a PC;
  • Network cables - except direct wires, it includes a range of passive and active equipment (routers, switches, etc. outlets, patch panels, etc...);
  • Work stations and subscriber units – these can be phone or fax, and specialized software installed on computer.

High demand on installation of separated ATE in office caused by a deficiency numbers from operators. To solve this problem, several numbers are provided to companies, which are multi-channel, but in fact these are not suitable for large call flow. To distribute channel evenly ATE are used.

By this equipment telephone connection is created between office workers and external calls are distributed among internal subscribers.

In the past ordinary telephone patch panel and wall outlet ("noodles") widely used for cable telephony. But now the used equipment is similar to that used in computer networks (cable, twisted pair category 6), which allows more flexibly and efficiently build a network, to use the modern means and save costs for communication.
